No action in Week 18
Published: 2025-01-07
Hopkins didn't take the field in Week 18 versus the Broncos.
Hopkins wasn't among the inactives for Sunday's regular-season finale, but the Chiefs opted to rest their starters with the No.1 seed locked up heading into the contest. Kansas City has a bye week on tap before they start their postseason run in the divisional round, and Hopkins should rejoin the action then.
Touchdown incentive
Published: 2025-01-05
Hopkins will be active in spot duty for Week 18, in part because he needs one more touchdown to reach a $500,000 contract incentive, Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday.
Hopkins will likely still have limited snaps, especially when the Chiefs are not near the red zone. It might still be a tough ask for Hopkins to get into the end zone, if Patrick Surtain is shadowing Hopkins when he's out there.
Just seven yards in Christmas win
Published: 2024-12-27
Hopkins caught two of four targets for seven yards in Wednesday's 29-10 win over the Steelers.
Patrick Mahomes threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns but Hopkins wasn't responsible for much of that production. While Hopkins' jump ball ability is still a valuable asset, Kansas City has preferred to get the ball out quickly to speedier alternatives such as Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown, limiting Hopkins' involvement in recent weeks. Hopkins will likely be rested in Week 18 against the Broncos since the Chiefs have sewn up the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Four catches in win
Published: 2024-12-22
Hopkins caught all four of his targets for 37 yards in Saturday's 27-19 win over the Texans.
Hopkins was once again limited to less than 40 yards in Week 16, marking his third straight contest failing to reach that mark and fifth time in nine games since being traded to Kansas City. The wide receiver has reeled in 13 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown over the last three games. With Hollywood Brown back in action, Hopkins may see a drop in production moving forward.
Five catches in Week 15 win
Published: 2024-12-15
Hopkins brought in five of six targets for 36 yards in the Chiefs' 21-7 win over the Browns on Sunday.
Hopkins finished second in receptions and receiving yards on the afternoon for the Chiefs, although the latter total was particularly unremarkable. Hopkins has at least four catches in four straight games, but he's been under 40 receiving yards in four of his last five contests overall. Hopkins could continue to struggle with efficiency in a Week 16 home matchup against the Texans on Saturday afternoon if Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is forced to miss the contest and is replaced by Carson Wentz.
Finds paydirt in Week 14 win
Published: 2024-12-08
Hopkins caught four of nine targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Chargers.
Hopkins scored a nine-yard touchdown in the second quarter and got both hands on a deep ball just outside the end zone early in the fourth before having it knocked out by a jarring hit for an incomplete pass. He accounted for Kansas City's only touchdown of the game but finished third on the team in receiving yards behind Travis Kelce (45) and Xavier Worthy (41) despite pacing the team in targets. Hopkins has established himself as the No. 1 wide receiver in Kansas City heading into a Week 15 matchup with the Browns, notching nine targets in three of his last six games while scoring four touchdowns over that span.
Leads team with 90 yards
Published: 2024-11-29
Hopkins had four receptions (nine targets) for 90 yards in Friday's 19-17 win over Las Vegas.
Hopkins snapped out of a marginal slump to post his highest receiving yardage total of both Friday's win and his season to date. The 32-year-old also recorded a season-worst 44 percent catch rate in order to become the game's leading receiver. Hopkins managed to help his offense beyond the box score by drawing two instrumental pass interference flags late in a hard-fought victory. Nuk should continue providing flex value in most fantasy formats for next Sunday's home matchup against the Chargers in Week 14.
Catches short touchdown
Published: 2024-11-24
Hopkins recorded five receptions on six targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers.
Hopkins was fairly involved in the Kansas City offense, as he tied for second on the team in targets. He had a modest day from a yardage perspective, as he was used primarily in the short areas of the field to limit his longest gain to 12 yards. However, Hopkins did manage his third touchdown as a Chief late in the third quarter by cashing in from three yards away. While he should remain a key target down the stretch, Hopkins has lacked explosiveness by tallying more than 50 receiving yards in just two of five games since joining Kansas City.
Modest production Sunday
Published: 2024-11-17
Hopkins caught three of four targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 30-21 loss to Buffalo.
Hopkins actually finished as the team's second-leading receiver despite his mild statistical output Sunday. It was a rough day overall for Kansas City's key receivers outside of rookie Xavier Worthy (4-61-1). Hopkins was targeted in the end zone late in the contest, but he drew a pass interference penalty instead. The Chiefs will lick their wounds and try to bounce back in a softer matchup against the Panthers next Sunday.
