Daniel Jones Remains starting QB

Coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Jones remains the Giants' starting quarterback heading into a Week 2 matchup on the road against Washington, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.

Daboll also said that New York won't be discussing any additions to the quarterback room or any changes to the distribution of practice reps, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. Jones was dreadful in Sunday's season-opening loss to Minnesota, in which he completed 22 of 42 passes for 186 yards, with zero touchdowns and two interceptions (one pick-six). The sixth-year QB will work to bounce back Week 2 in a favorable matchup against the Commanders, but if Jones is unable to spark the offense again his grip on the starting gig may not hold firm much longer.
