Daniel Jones Rusty in return to game action

Jones completed 11 of 18 passes for 138 yards and two interceptions in Saturday's 28-10 preseason loss to the Texans. He gained 12 yards on his lone carry.

The Giants' first-team offense stayed on the field for the entire first half, giving Jones plenty of reps in his first game action since he suffered a torn ACL in Week 9 of last season. The 27-year-old quarterback predictably looked rusty and threw two bad picks on back-to-back possessions, one of which came from his own end zone and was returned five yards for a touchdown by Jalen Pitre. Jones also had some good moments too though, including a 44-yard connection with Darius Slayton in the second quarter that set up a one-yard TD plunge for Devin Singletary. The Giants play one more exhibition contest next Saturday against the Jets, but it's not yet clear if Jones will suit up for it, or if he won't be under center again until Week 1 against the Vikings.
