Brown (shoulder) has been officially ruled out for Thursday night's season opener against the Ravens, per the Chiefs' official site.
It's an outcome that coach Andy Reid previously acknowledged would be the case, which sets the stage for Brown -- who was listed as a non-participant in practice leading up to the contest -- to target a potential return to action Sept. 15 against the Bengals. In his absence Thursday, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Justin Watson figure to lead the Chiefs' Week 1 WR corps, with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Skyy Moore and Mecole Hardman also in the mix.
