Struggles in tough matchup

RotoWire Logo Published: 2025-01-12

Robinson was held to 16 yards on 10 carries while catching four of five targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Buccaneers.

Robinson failed to generate any running lanes against Pro Bowl DT Vita Vea and the interior of Tampa Bay's defense. Quarterback Jayden Daniels wound up leading the Commanders in carries (13) as the rushing offense was forced to operate outside of the numbers in the second half. Robinson also had to deal with the presence of veteran backup Austin Ekeler, who was activated from IR in Week 18 and poached 11 touches for a combined 53 yards in Sunday's narrow victory. With a shared backfield and a potential pass-heavy game plan set for the divisional round, Robinson makes for a marginal DFS option against the Lions on Saturday.

Modest workload in Week 18

RotoWire Logo Published: 2025-01-05

Robinson rushed five times for 10 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's 23-19 win over the Cowboys.

Robinson didn't get many touches in the regular-season finale as the Commanders chose not to overwork their running backs ahead of the postseason. Washington's lead back finishes the regular season with 187 carries for 799 yards and eight touchdowns, as well as 20 catches for 159 yards on 25 targets. Austin Ekeler (concussion) returned from injured reserve Sunday, but Robinson's likely to get the majority of touches over Ekeler in the wild-card round against either the Rams or Buccaneers.

Handles 15 touches Sunday

Robinson took 13 carries for 60 yards while catching both of his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 30-24 overtime win over the Falcons.

Robinson turned in a middling performance as rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels carried the team to victory Sunday. The 25-year-old Robinson did set a new career high in rushing yards (849) following Sunday's modest showing. Robinson will continue heading Washington's rushing attack in next Sunday's season-finale against the Cowboys.

Can't hold onto ball in Week 16

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-12-22

Robinson carried the ball 10 times for 24 yards and caught two of three targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 36-33 win over the Eagles. He also lost two fumbles.

The third-year running back wasn't much involved in the game plan once the Commanders fell behind early, in part because he coughed up the ball on two of the team's first five possessions, and Jayden Daniels wound up leading the team in rushing yards while also throwing five TDs in the comeback victory. Robinson still crept closer to 1,000 scrimmage yards for the season, and he sits 127 yards away heading into a Week 17 clash with the Falcons that could allow him to have more of a featured role if he isn't in coach Dan Quinn's doghouse.

Gains 87 total yards Sunday

Robinson had 21 carries for 65 yards while corralling all three of his targets for 22 receiving yards in Sunday's 20-19 win over New Orleans.

Robinson struggled as a runner Sunday, averaging just 3.1 yards per carry despite tying his season high in carries (21). The 25-year-old helped offset his inefficient rushing day with the second-highest yardage total as a receiver through 11 active games this year. Robinson will continue to lead Washington's backfield as the team prepares to host Philadelphia next Sunday.

Rumbles for 40-yard TD in win

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-12-01

Robinson rushed 16 times for 103 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for six yards in Sunday's 42-19 win over the Titans.

Robinson quickly showed that he's over the ankle injury he sustained in the Week 12 loss to Dallas, opening the scoring with a 40-yard touchdown run on the game's first possession. That hot start helped Robinson post his third 100-yard rushing performance of the season and first since Week 4. With Austin Ekeler (concussion) on IR, Robinson should continue to handle heavy workloads as the clear lead back after Washington's Week 14 bye.

Avoids injury designation

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-11-29

Robinson (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.

Robinson may even have a larger-than-usual role despite hurting his ankle last week, seeing as Austin Ekeler suffered a concussion later in the game and now has been ruled out for Week 13. Robinson upgraded to full practice participation Friday after being limited the previous wo days.

Stays limited Thursday

Robinson (ankle) was listed as limited on Thursday's injury report.

It's unclear if the Commanders practiced Thursday, but Robinson would have maintained his activity from one day prior if they did. He's in a better position to be available Sunday against the Titans than fellow RB Austin Ekeler, who has yet to log any on-field work since coming out of this past Sunday's loss to the Cowboys with a concussion. Friday's practice report will unveil whether or not Robinson heads into the weekend with a designation.

Officially limited Wednesday

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-11-27

Robinson (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

During this past Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, Robinson attempted to gut through an ankle injury that he suffered in the first quarter, but he eventually wasn't able to return after getting a questionable tag for a second time after halftime. Fellow RB Austin Ekeler suffered a concussion on a kick return late in the contest and was held out of practice Wednesday. Considering the players seem to be trending in different directions ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans, Robinson clearly is the better bet to be available Week 13. If Robinson ends up inhibited or even inactive this weekend, Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez will be the options out of the Commanders backfield.
