Concussion confirmed

RotoWire Logo Published: 2025-01-13

Doubs was diagnosed with a concussion after he left in the third quarter of Sunday's 22-10 wild-card loss to the Eagles, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

The Packers concluded the season without their top three receivers, as Christian Watson (knee) missed the playoff game after tearing his ACL in Week 18 before Doubs and Jayden Reed (shoulder) both departed with injuries in third quarter Sunday. Doubs was sent in for a concussion check after he fell hard to the turf while attempting to reel in a potential touchdown pass with 6:55 remaining in the period, finishing the contest with two catches for 13 yards on two targets. The concussion was the second of the season for Doubs, who previously sustained a head injury Week 12 against the 49ers and missed the Packers' next two games as a result.

Exits Sunday's game

Doubs is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's wild-card round game against the Eagles.

Prior to his exit from the game, Doubs -- who missed time earlier this season with a concussion -- caught both of his targets for 13 yards. In his absence, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Meltonand Malik Heath are available to handle Green Bay's wideout duties.

Full practice Wednesday

Doubs (illness) practiced in full Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Doubs came down with an illness this past weekend and wasn't able so suit up Sunday against the Bears. He spoke on the situation Wednesday, telling Ryan Wood of USA Today that the ailment worsened "throughout the day," but he's "doing better" in the meantime. With an uncapped session now under his belt, Doubs is back in a receiving corps that will be without Christian Watson for its playoff run due to a torn ACL suffered Week 18. Watson's absence should open up snaps and targets for Doubs along with Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton and Malik Heath on Sunday at Philadelphia.

Back at practice Wednesday

Doubs (illness) was present at Wednesday's practice, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.

Doubs was tacked on to the Packers' Week 18 injury Saturday as questionable due to an illness and eventually was sidelined Sunday against the Bears. Coach Matt LaFleur told Matt Schneidman of The Athletic afterward that Doubs was "in no shape" to play in the regular-season finale due to a "bug," but with the benefit of three days to rest and recover, the wide receiver appears to be mostly past the ailment. Wednesday's report will unveil how much work Doubs was able to handle.

Dealing with 'bug'

Coach Matt LaFleur said Doubs was "in no shape" to play Sunday against the Bears due to a "bug," but he believes the wide receiver will be available for next weekend's wild-card game at Philadelphia, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Doubs was added to the Packers' Week 18 injury report Saturday due to an illness, which came with a questionable designation. He ultimately wasn't able to suit up this weekend, and the team may have lost fellow WR Christian Watson for the foreseeable future due to a right knee injury that he suffered during Sunday's loss. With the status of both players in flux, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton and Malik Heath represent the healthy wideouts on Green Bay's active roster.

Sidelined due to illness

Doubs (illness) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Bears, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.

Doubs was added to the Packers' Week 18 injury report Saturday due to an illness, which left him questionable for Sunday's game. With his lack of availability confirmed this weekend, Green Bay will turn to Jayden Reed, Christian Watson (knee) and Dontayvion Wicks as its primary wide receivers, while Bo Melton and Malik Heath also will be on hand for snaps and targets. Doubs will turn his focus to getting healthy for the wild-card round next weekend.

Comes down with illness

The Packers added Doubs to their injury report Saturday, listing him as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Bears due to an illness, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Green Bay already may be without its top vertical threat in Christian Watson (knee) in Week 18, and now the status of perhaps QB Jordan Love's most-trusted option in Doubs is up in the air. With Watson sidelined last Sunday at Minnesota, Doubs was targeted 11 times and turned them into seven catches for 58 yards. Doubs' status for Sunday's matchup will be confirmed, one way or another, about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Little output on 11 targets

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-12-29

Doubs recorded seven receptions on 11 targets for 58 yards in Sunday's 27-25 loss to the Vikings.

Doubs stepped up in the absence of Christian Watson (knee) to record a season-high 11 targets and seven catches. He had an inefficient showing with the expanded opportunity overall, though he did manage back-to-back receptions of 18 and 13 yards late in the fourth quarter to help set up a Green Bay touchdown to highlight his performance. If Watson can return in Week 18 against the Bears, Doubs is likely to return to his more typical role of around five or six targets.

Low usage Monday

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-12-23

Doubs had two receptions on three targets for 20 yards in Monday's 34-0 win over the Saints.

Doubs fell victim to a run-heavy game script in what turned out to be a lopsided victory. Christian Watson (knee) left the contest nursing what appeared to be a minor knee injury, but further tests Tuesday will reveal its severity. Should the latter miss any time, Doubs would be likely benefactor of increased targets and/or playing time against Minnesota in Week 17.
